This 8 plank wagon is highly detailed and comes with a finely moulded body, profiled wheels, accurately applied livery and NEM pockets with self centring couplers.  Comes complete with a coal load.

The 8 plank wagon was a development of the earlier 7 plank version and was primarily a coal wagon, carrying the less dense forms of coal (coke etc), where the extra height allowed it to carry its full 12 ton capacity. They were built in the late 1920s to the late 1930s and continued into service up to the late 1960s.
