To begin the conversion process, you will need to cut and remove the old Big D type loop using flush cutters. Then, remove the hook. Using the NEM converter as a guide, scribe the width of the pocket and measure back 7mm. Cut the channel using a minidrill cutting disc or a coping saw. If using a minidrill, take care to clean any melted plastic residue.

Once the channel is cut, check the fit of the converter and also ensure that the height is appropriate before fitting it permanently. To achieve a proper fit, lightly sand the plastic surface using a fibreglass pen or wet and dry sandpaper. Apply adhesive and allow it to dry thoroughly before using the converted model.
