Dapol 4F-050-108 O&K JHA (Middle Hopper) Foster Yeoman Early 19325.

These 1:76 scale model O&K JHA Hoppers from Dapol are highly detailed and will be a great addition to your OO gauge rolling stock.

They feature diecast chassis, profiled wheels and close coupling mechanism fitted to both inner- and outer-types, capable of operating on minimum of 438mm radius. they are finished with high level of detail, which will include many separately added details and were designed from works drawings

The inner versions of the hopper have no buffers and feature buckeye couplings. The outer versions of the hopper have one end fitted NEM pockets and the other with a buckeye coupling and no buffers. The rearmost hopper has a flashing lamp (requires a 6 pin DCC decoder).

An accessory pack is included that contains loose, unconnected pipes and flexible pipes to connect between adjacent wagons.

They measure 182mm (length including buffers) by 33mm (width) by 48mm (height).

The O&K JHA hoppers were built by Orenstein & Koppel to coincide with the introduction of the Class 59’s in the UK for aggregate haulage by Foster Yeoman. They remain in service to date with Mendip Rail Ltd. A rake of these wagons consist of two outer wagons and a number of inner wagons.

The notable feature is that the two outer wagons have screw link couplings and buffers on the outer most edge of the train, whilst the connection between inner wagons is a buckeye style coupling allowing closer coupling and hence an overall reduction in length of the train which was considered an important design aim.
