Kibri 37301 Windmill In Lemkenhafen N Gauge Plastic Kit

The highly detailed Kibri model is a replica of the last of 22 windmills on Fehmarn island. In 1787 it was erected as a groat mill and operated with wind sails. Its appearance is similar to a Dutch windmill. This type of mill could be seen frequently in the coastal regions of the Northsea of Belgium and the Netherlands right through to Germany Denmark and Sweden.

Today it is no longer in use for milling and has been turned into a museum.

Like the original the Kibri model looks like a tower where only the top but not the entire building turns in order to move the mill subject to the wind direction. The mill is clad in wooden slats that form a special contrast to the finely detailed rotating blades of the model.
