Hornby R3359 Railroad Rothery Industries, Ex-GWR 101 Class, 0-4-0T, 391
This strange engine was created as a one off prototype for experimental testing as an oil burning locomotive in 1901, intended for service on the Wrington Vale Light Railway in Somerset.
Following conversion back to coal burning the locomotive ended up spending its working life incommunicado at Swindon railway works as a works shunter.
The Hornby RailRoad collection provides a perfect entry into the exciting world of 00 gauge railway modelling. Designed to be less easily damaged, yet maintaining attractive detailing and accurate liveries, the range is ideal for both the younger enthusiast and experienced modeller.
Please note that this locomotive is DCC compatible but has no socket so it will require hard wiring.
