Dapol 7D-008-017 Class 08 EWS 08709.
The class 08 diesel electric locomotive is one of the most common diesels developed for British railway usage. Over 990 of these locomotives were produced between 1953 and 1962 at the railway works in Crewe, Darlington and Doncaster. Until the 1990's they were commonly seen in all large stations and goods yards.
Unfortunately with the introduction of fixed rake wagons and multiple units, the need for shunting locomotive diminished and many of these locomotives were either scrapped or sold overseas.
These stunning reproductions of one of the most popular shunting locomotives will really stand out on any O Gauge model railway and with the smooth motion and slow running characteristics they will surely take pride of place in any goods yard or station scene.
They feature sprung metal buffers, a diecast running plate for extra quality and weight, independently controlled running and cab lights, sprung metal coupling hook and screw coupling, a finely moulded body with many separately added fine details, cast profiled wheels with fine relief and appropriate colouring.
Included is an accessory bag with spares and other optional added detail.
This model measures 260mm (length including buffers) by 62mm (width) by 88mm (height) and is decorated in EWS maroon and gold livery.
