Dapol 2D-026-006D N Gauge 1:148 Scale, Class 86, The Manchester Guardian, 86253, Electric Locomotive

The Class 86 Bo-Bo electric locomotive was the first large scale electric brought into the running service and was developed from the earlier class 81 - 85's. These locomotives were built in Doncaster between 1965 and 1966 and were designed for use on the high speed routes on the newly electrified West Coast line and could be used for both freight and passenger services.

Some of the locomotives in this class were named after cities that they pass through. After privatisation the locomotives were split between various railway operators (EWS, Freightliner, Anglia and others) They could often be seen in a push-pull formation with MK3 driving van trailer (DVT).

These great little models feature lots of details including external pipe work, directional lighting, and finely printed external logos and numbering They also boast all wheel drive and pick up, directional & cab lighting, finely detailed and posable pantograph, a smooth running 5 pole next generation motor and cast wheels with fine relief and appropriate colouring.  If that isn't enough it also offers a finely moulded body with many separately applied details and comes with magnetic couplings and traditional couplings and an accessory bag with spares and optional detail parts.
