The A30 Countryman was was based on the classic Austin A30 car introduced in 1952. The Countryman itself was introduced in 1954. The body structure was a fully stressed monocoque chassis-less construction, which made it lighter and stiffer that contemporary vehicles. It had 60 cubic foot (1.70 cubic metres) load space which made it an ideal delivery van.
