The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

The consumer contracts regulations came into effect on the 13th June 2014 and implement the consumer rights directive, which give you rights when online shopping. By accepting our terms of service you are confirming that you have been informed of your legal rights.

Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Any information collected is for use by The Railway Conductor Ltd authorised personnel only in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Under no circumstances are customer details passed on to other companies.

Pricing Policy

The price advertised on The Railway Conductor website will be the price charged at the time of the order being processed. This excludes errors in pricing. In the event of an error with a price you will be contacted and given the option to accept the correct price or cancel the order.


Payments are only taken on orders when items are in stock and available for shipping. Payment is not taken on pre order unless a deposit is required.


All new products come with a 12 month manufacturer warranty.  If you require any further information please contact us or refer to the manufacturers guide.

Returns Policy

So that we can process returns quickly, please enclose the original invoice and a covering letter detailing the reason for return, the original invoice number and your contact details including telephone number. The cost of return postage will be reimbursed in the instance of faulty or incorrect items and returned by:

UK Customers:  Royal Mail Second Class with “Proof of Postage”.  “Proof of Postage” certificates are available free-of-charge from Post Offices.  They ensure that, in the event of a missing parcel, you can prove it was posted to us.

International Customers:  Please return the item(s) to us using the most economical method.  In most cases this will be by standard Airmail.

Unwanted Items

Any unwanted item(s) will be refunded if returned within 14 days, in its original, unopened packaging.  Return postage costs will not be refunded. Please return to:

Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

We check all items before they are packaged and dispatched.  Should you receive faulty, damaged or incorrect item(s) please notify us within 5 days of receiving the item(s).  The item(s) should be returned to us in the condition they were received in, preferably in the original wrapping/packaging within 30 days.  If it is not possible to return in original packaging they should be suitably packaged to prevent further damage whilst in transit.

Items will be tested on receipt and dealt with appropriately.  Any items that are tested and found to be in good working order will not be eligible for replacement, and will be returned.  In some cases it may be necessary for the item(s) to be returned to the Manufacturer. Should this arise, we will notify you.

If a product is thought to be faulty please contact us by phone or email before returning it.  Often we can diagnose problems and advise how to resolve most issues without the item(s) needing to be returned.


Refunds will be issued  to the original payment method used.

UK Postage

No guarantee of same day dispatch, we aim to send parcels within 48 hours of payment being taken.

Postage Prices

£2.64 Royal Mail Small Packet Delivery.  This takes 3-5 working days after dispatch.

£3.95 Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For.  This takes 3-5 working days after dispatch and will require a signature on delivery.

Any orders over £100 will qualify for Free Shipping.

International Postage

All overseas shipping are cost based on the weight and value of the goods ordered. We have a standard delivery charge of £20 for overseas postage. Once the item has been posted we will refund any difference in price. Signed for Airmail services are typically £3.50 extra per parcel, tracking is only available while the parcel is in the UK and a signature will be required upon delivery. Please note in the event we cannot ship your parcel using the service you have chosen, we will contact you and let you know.
