TAMIYA 35221 British Cromwell Tank Mk IV

The A27 Cromwell tank was designed to use the Meteor engine, a de-rated version of the Rolls-Royce Merlin aeroplane engine. This engine was built by the Rover car company and produced 600 bhp. Initially this tank was produced with a Liberty engine (designalted A27L). When the Meteor engine became available, the designatio was changed to A27M. Different variations of this tank were made depending upon its main armament. The Mk. I had a 6 pounder gun, the Mk. III had a 75 mm gun, the Mk. IV had 95mm Howitzer gun and the Mk. V had a 75mm Q.F. Mk.V gun chambered for american ammunition.

These tanks were first issued to the Armoured Reconnaissance Regiments in October 1943 and finally retired in the late 1950's.
